FAVORITE THINGS NEWSLETTER

And now, for this year's list of favorite things!

For the body --

Usually, I come up with some sort of wonderful salve or balm for the body, but this year, I've got something that goes even deeper. Something to eat, and to savor...

Chocolate!

This year I discovered Wei of Chocolate, a company that is dedicated to creating artisan chocolates, infused with flower essences that are out-of-this-world yummy.

All the chocolates are organic, vegan, dairy free, GMO free, and on and on, but it doesn't matter -- they're still delicious!

The intention of the chocolate makers is for you to take one of the chocolates in your mouth and allow it to dissolve without chewing it. And during this 3 or so minutes, focus the mind and be in the present moment.

Sometimes that works for me, and sometimes not ;), but I love supporting someone who has had the brilliant idea of combining two things all of us could use more of: meditation and chocolate.

(And of course, you already know how wonderful CranioSacral Therapy is for your body. Please contact me if you’d like to give the gift of CST to someone you love (especially if that person is YOU! ☺️)

For the mind --

You know how much I love to read, and I love to share books that have touched me. (What can I say? It's the old English teacher in me!)

I've just finished a book that would be perfect for most bodywork therapists I know. The Way of Aikido: Life Lessons from an American Sensei by George Leonard may not sound like anything subtle touch therapists would want to read, but give it a chance.

While I enjoyed learning about the beautiful martial art of Aikido, the sections that really resonated with me are about the importance of blending with others while still holding your center. Sound familiar?

It's one of those books that I originally checked out from the library, but after marking almost every page with a sticky note, I decided I needed my own copy. If you're looking forward to some down time over the holiday, this would be a great book to read while curled up with a cup of hot tea.

More for the mind --

One of my clients told me about the Passion Planner, and it has changed my life!

That may seem a bit extreme, but if you're like me and prefer to set your schedule on paper rather than on your phone, a Passion Planner may be perfect for you.

Designed by a millennial who was tired of seeing all her friends have big dreams but who were not able to make progress on those dreams, the Passion Planner is part calendar, part journal, part goal setter.

I like the undated planners the best, and I love that I can make my week begin on Mondays, and see my weekends together.

And I've seen goals and dreams that I've had for ages start to come to fruition. To me, there is indeed magic in writing things down.

There you have it -- a couple ideas to get your holiday started. May the season bring you joy, peace, and rejuvenation.

Much love from me to you.
